I have never heard of that one being used IRL in money laundering, it is instead used as a scam to steal your money... here is how it works
step 1: you get the "job" and they send you a cashier's check
step 2: you cash the cashier's check, and 5 days later the bank tells you it cleared and the funds are available.
step 3: you withdraw the money, and send them their 80% back.
step 4: the bank deducts the full amount from your account because the cashiers check was fake.
why does this happen? the government wants to ensure people trust cashiers checks, so they force the banks to tell you it cleared and make the money available after 5 days unless its clearly fake. The suspicious (but not clearly fake) cashiers check is still being investigated by the bank, when they finally prove its fake they take the money back from you and you are screwed.
Thanks for that information!
At the moment 'here' you'll receive eBay money, from people who'll yet don't know that they'll never get their product.
When, a month later or so, the police will show up you're allready transacted lots and lots of money to who-knows-where and owe these people.

Refugees
I've been making demolitionsquad comics for 10 years now and if you've been reading my comics you already know I'm more of
a joke and gag kind of guy than one to be telling witty political tales. There's many reasons for that but mainly I do it
because I think that more often than not the worst joke might give you more than giving you one with the "moral club" if
it is told from the perspective of two totally opposing parties.
And that basically won't change, but...
- Sry, german only -
If you always wanted to buy one of my comics but never did, the time would be now. (Here as well: Sry, german only. This is just a translation of my german blogpost, for wich some of you asked, I'm afraid.)
I donate all the money that comes in via my comics being sold this month to a refugee hostel. Simply put, this money goes to
buying art supplys. So I'm buying pens, crayons, paper etc with this money and go to a refugee hostel to draw with the kids.
Maybe this doesn't help a person in need directly but it can help bring some normality for the kids that escaped their
dire circumstances.
